Gammaproteo bacteria

The group Proteobacteria contain many of the most harmful bacterial species such as Escherichia coli, Campylobacteria, Salmonella and Yersinia. Their prevalence in the gut should be less than 0,5%. Bigger prevalences are linked to inflammatory diseases or irritable bowel. The overgrowth of E. coli can be linked to chronic suolistotulehdus.

Proteobacteria do not like vegetables but fat and sugar instead. Even though the prevalence of this group in the gut is small it should be monitored when severe gut conditions are concerned. The balance of the gut microbiota is off when the prevalence rises to many percentages.
